You must have a master's degree

Article 11 of the decree of May 25, 2016 states that "to be enrolled in a doctoral program, the candidate must hold a national Master's degree or another degree conferring the grade of Master, following a course of training or professional experience establishing his or her aptitude for research."

In the case of a foreign degree from outside the European Union, the doctoral application will have to go through the Scientific Council of the doctoral school, which will rule on the equivalence of the foreign degree presented to request admission to the doctoral program. This equivalence will be requested automatically when the application is processed.

Although it is not a legal requirement, it is desirable to have done a research dissertation in Master 2 to apply for the PhD.

You must have a thesis advisor

After defining your research topic, you must contact a thesis advisor who specializes in your field of research

To find a thesis director, it is necessary:

1. to consult the supervision specialties of the researchers in the laboratory in order to guide your choice.
2. contact, via their professional email address, the professor(s) and lecturer(s) authorized to direct research who could supervise you by sending them a research project accompanied by the following documents:

• a curriculum vitae,
• a cover letter,
• a copy of the transcripts of Master 1, Master 2 and thesis note,
• a copy of the diploma if it was issued on the date of application.
• A research project including a state of the art in the specialty (literature review), a proposal of problematic and a positioning in relation to the literature, a proposal of methodology and the most important bibliographic references

You can also consult the topics proposed by the laboratory's teachers on the ADUM website. If one of them arouses your interest, you must contact the teacher-researcher who proposed the topic before initiating the registration procedure.
You should not apply directly on Adum before the subject has been validated by the doctoral commission or the departmental authorities.

1. You are applying for funding
   
   The doctoral committee, which meets in June, will evaluate your application. Funding will be awarded after hearing the candidates.
    
2. You are not applying for funding
   
   Your application will be evaluated by departmental authorities.

If your dissertation supervision application is approved, you will need to create an account on the ADUM (Aaccess Doctoral U and Mauthored) web portal to complete your official application.
