THREpiCO
The project, Tourism in the Hauts-de-France Region in the Face of the Covid-19 Epidemic Risk, aims to study changes in tourist behavior and resiliency strategies of tourism professionals in times of pandemic, in the case of the Hauts-de-France region.
Estimating the impact of the pandemic on tourist numbers
The project intends to understand how individuals perceived the region regarding the Covid-19 epidemic risk and analyze the role of their perceptions in their actual and potential visiting behaviors. Particular attention is paid to individuals' trust in regional tourism actors and the actions taken to manage the risk. The impact of the pandemic on tourism attendance and visitor well-being is also estimated. From the supply side, we analyze the effect and attractiveness of health security protocols and communication strategies around these measures.
A multidisciplinary program and a large university consortium
The THREpiCO project is led by the University of the Littoral, in collaboration with the UPHF, the University of Brittany, the University of Corsica, the ISEN Yncréa Ouest - Site de Brest and the Hauts de France Regional Committee. It involves 5 multidisciplinary research laboratories, 9 teacher-researchers in economics or geography, a study engineer and 3 interns.
