Terra Mater: nurturing and coveted

Texts collected by Fabrice Guizard and Nicolas Rouget
As a living entity, a support of life, the soil has constituted, and still constitutes, a fundamental issue all over the planet, as much social and economic as political and environmental, implying evolution and decision mechanisms at the local scale (land consolidation, modernization areas...), global (land grabbing), passing through the various state and institutional levels (agrarian reforms, accessibility to the resource, securing, land ownership status). Such a plurality makes soil an object of research both in the life and earth sciences and in the humanities and social sciences, but also an interdisciplinary object that needs to be approached from many different angles of reading, as shown by the works presented here.
Terra Mater, nourishing and coveted compiles the studies carried out for the two meetings around " Nourishing soils " and " Coveted soils ", organized by the SocietiesEnvironment group.
