DOS optical switch for microwave optical link based applications

Karine Blary, Samuel Dupont, Jean-Pierre Vilcot, Francis Mollot, Didier Decoster, Jean Chazelas

The performance of an InGaAsP/InP digital optical switch (DOS) structure is investigated and discussed when used in microwave over fibre signal transmission. The focus is on on/off ratio as well as phase noise performance of microwave transmitted signals.
