Caractérisation et perception du retour vibrotactile : cas de la guitare électrique, Characterization and perception of vibrotactile feedback : the case of the electric guitar

Paul Cambourian

Cette thèse est une..., Most of the previous work in musical acoustics have focused on the study of the sound emitted by instruments. However, musical instruments vibrate, resonate, and provide vibrotactile feedback to musicians, to which they are known to be sensitive. This thesis is a multidisciplinary approach to the...

Influence of indium tin oxide residues on the electrical performance of hydrogenated amorphous silicon thin-film transistors in the backplane of active-matrix displays

Xiang Yu, Zhiqiang Zhang, Jingxuan Pei, Jing Zhang, Rabah Boukherroub

Etching residues of crystallized indium tin oxide (ITO) films deteriorate thin-film transistor (TFT) characteristics and negatively affect the display images. The usability of active-matrix displays is inseparable from hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) TFT backplanes. In particular, in large-...

Robust Fano resonance between mechanical first- and second-order topological states

Linyun Yang, Ying Wu, Kaiping Yu, Rui Zhao, Wei Wang, Bernard Bonello, Bahram Djafari-Rouhani

The Fano resonance, as a phenomenon of wave scattering, is based on the interaction between a “bright mode” and a “dark mode” giving rise to an asymmetric and ultrasharp spectral peak. However, the Fano resonant frequency is sensitive to structural imperfections such as defects or disorders, which...
