Department of Mathematics (DMATHS)
The Mathematics Department carries out its research activities in the following themes :
.
- The analysis and numerical solution of partial differential equations,
- Topological optimization and the study of curves and surfaces,
- History of mathematics, dissemination and popularization of mathematics, especially for teachers and students in secondary education,
- Probability and statistics: modeling, description and estimation of random phenomena are studied (experimental designs, Gaussian processes, statistical learning...),
- Differential geometry of subvarieties, the theory of foliations (qualitative and geometric study of differential equations), complex geometry,
- Number theory : Galois structure of rings of integers in connection with cryptography and code theory.
