Discovering the breast

What better than images to understand the structure of the breast and thus improve self-palpation gestures?

Effectively, what better way than the virtual to understand.

This was what was proposed by Sébastien LETENEUR, Director of the Health Department and Professor of Anatomy, who organized a demonstration of virtual breast dissection.

In fact, IT2S has equipped itself with 3D virtual anatomy software which, for this demonstration, made it possible to discover a breast plan by plan and thus better understand how it works.

Mammary glands, support fibers (Cooper's ligament), fat (adipose tissue), lobules, ducts... each component of a breast holds its own role, and "understanding" a breast also makes it easier to monitor.

The experiment is just beginning.... other dissection demonstrations will be offered on other organs of the human body, for example to visually explain certain diseases such as Parkinson's.

For now, ladies, don't forget to put your arm behind your neck when palpating your breast!
