CERAMATHS is a research component of UPHF created in 2021 following the merger of laboratories in Ceramic Materials and Associated Processes (LMCPA), Mathematics and their Applications (LAMAV) and Mathematics for Engineers (LMI).
The laboratory develops fundamental and applied research in mathematics and ceramic materials science in its areas of excellence but also in many cross-cutting and collaborative areas with national and international partners. CERAMATHS is structured in 2 departments.

The Mathematics Department is active in the fields of analysis and numerical solution of partial differential equations, topological optimization and the study of curves and surfaces, probability-statistics, differential geometry of varieties and the theory of foliations, number theory, algebra, and the history of mathematics.
He works on the development of ceramic materials, the study of their manufacturing processes and their physicochemical characteristics.
The Materials and Processes Department develops ceramic materials, working through the entire development process, from powder synthesis, to sintering, to shaping. In addition, the DMP characterizes the materials obtained using various techniques, for applications mainly in the fields of transportation and sustainable development and health.
