InSb thin films and selective area MBE grown nanostructures on InP(111)B substrate

Wijden Khelifi, Pierre Capiod, Christophe Coinon, Maxime Berthe, X. Wallart, B. Grandidier, L. Desplanque

The growth of InSb by molecular beam epitaxy on InP(111) substrate is investigated. We observe that a very large Sb/In flux ratio promotes the spreading of InSb, leading a rapid coalescence of initial 2D InSb islands and forming a smooth InSb layer after 100nm deposition. This growth mode is used…

First attempts of WSe2 growth on GaP(111)B substrates by MBE

N. Chapuis, Christophe Coinon, D. Deresmes, G. Patriarche, D. Vignaud, X. Wallart

Few layers WSe2 are grown on GaP(111)B surfaces passivated by selenium. The layers remains 2D at low growth temperature (Tg = 200-250°C) while exhibiting the formation of the metastable 1T’ phase. Medium growth temperatures (400-550°C) lead to a poor crystalline surface quality. In both cases,…

Understanding the Effect of Ni-Substitution on the Oxygen Evolution Reaction of (100) IrO 2 Surfaces

Gaëtan Buvat, Mohammad Eslamibidgoli, Tianjun Zhang, Sagar Prabhudev, Azza Hadj Youssef, Andreas Ruediger, Sébastien Garbarino, Gianluigi Botton, Peng Zhang, Michael Eikerling, Daniel Guay

The electrolysis process of water is impeded by the slow kinetics of the oxygen evolution reaction (OER). While iridium oxide (IrO2) is considered one of the most efficient metal catalysts for the OER, the adsorption of the OER intermediates at the IrO2 surface is not optimal, the *OH intermediate…

Sustainability in (bio-)analytical chemistry [Editorial]

Antje Baeumner, Günter Gauglitz, Luigi Mondello, María Cruz Moreno Bondi, Sabine Szunerits, Qiuquan Wang, Stephen Wise, Adam Woolley

We all live on this amazing planet, which, with available sunlight and abundant resources, offers more than enough to maintain life and livelihood. Nevertheless, how we continue to consume what the Earth provides will decide for what duration humanity will still be able to meet these ongoing needs…

Bound states in the continuum and Fano resonances in photonic and plasmonic loop structures

Madiha Amrani, Soufyane Khattou, Housni Al-Wahsh, Yamina Rezzouk, El Houssaine El Boudouti, Cécile Ghouila-Houri, Abdelkrim Talbi, Abdellatif Akjouj, L. Dobrzynski, Bahram Djafari-Rouhani

The design and study of structures exhibiting bound states in the continuum (BICs) are the object of continuous works in wave physics. These long-lived states which are localized in some parts of the system without interacting with the background have found several potential applications due to…
