Master 1 DIJT and Master 2 Curatorial Studies

Tuesday, October 1, 2024, students from Master 1 Information Design and Transmedia Journalism (DIJT) and Master 2 Curatorial Studies met around a joint project they'll be working on all year.

Designing an exhibition and organizing communication

This project revolves around a colloquium << EN REVENIR (Gestes d'enquête dans le champ de l'art actuel) to be held on February 5, 2025, mirroring an exhibition Pièces à conviction to take place in the UPHF Arts Center in February/March 2025.

The M1 DIJT students (accompanied by their teacher Angelina Toursel), will be in charge of communication around these events: creating content of various kinds (writing articles, videos, podcasts, social networks...), setting up and applying a graphic charter and creating a fanzine. The Master 2 Curatorial Studies students (accompanied by their teachers Christian Hanquet and Henri Duhamel) will be in charge of designing the exhibition from A to Z (scenography, direction, conventions, mediation...).

A collaboration with Anna Buno, Fanny Muller and Valentin Wattier

During the day-long event on October 1, the two classes of students met Anna Buno (artist-researcher and curator of the exhibition), Fanny Muller (graphic designer and art printer) and Valentin Wattier (scenographer-arranger), with whom they will be working during the year.

In the morning, the various speakers presented the symposium, the exhibition project, their backgrounds and their professions. An initial tour of the UPHF Arts Centre was followed by a visit to the current exhibition. In the afternoon, Master 1 DIJT students began working with graphic designer Fanny Muller on communication. Students in the Master 2 Études Curatoriales program, accompanied by scenographer Valentin Wattier, began discussing the works and artists to be exhibited, as well as scenographic issues.

.

Through this first workshop (and those to follow), one of the aims of this ambitious collective project is to offer students a professionalizing experience in the respective field of their training, in close dialogue with professionals in the field.

The colloquium << EN REVENIR (Gestes d'enquête dans le champ de l'art actuel) is organized by Angelina Toursel & Henri Duhamel (LARSH - UPHF - Valenciennes), Anna Buno and Philippe Fauvel (CRÆ-UPJV - Amiens).
