Secularism & the Republic

The Crous de Lille is organizing the exhibition "Laïcité & République", presented on the campus du Mont Houy.

Installed in the Matisse building, this exhibition consists of 15 roll-ups (kakemonos) that retrace the major dates in the history of secularism in France and recall the main landmarks that have shaped this fundamental principle of the Republic.

Through this visual and educational tour, visitors can discover the key moments in the construction of secularism, as well as the values associated with it and its place in contemporary society.

The exhibition opening will take place on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 12pm. The exhibition will then be open to the public until April 7, 2026.
