The production of micro-droplets by the impact of a drop on a hydrophobic micro-grid

We report on experiments of drop impacting a hydrophobic micro-grid, of typical spacing 50 μm. We find a thresholdin impact speed above which a small amount of liquid protrudes the grid and emerges to the other side.
