Theoretical and experimental analyses of tunable Fabry-Perot resonators using piezoelectric phononic crystals

Marie-Fraise Ponge, Bertrand Dubus, Christian Granger, Jerome O. Vasseur, Mai Pham Thi, Anne-Christine Hladky

Theoretical and experimental analyses of piezoelectric stacks submitted to periodical electrical boundary conditions via electrodes are conducted. The presented structures exhibit Bragg band gaps that can be switched on or off by setting electrodes in short or open circuit. The band gap frequency…

Characterization of flexible CMOS technology tranferred onto a metallic foil

Justine Philippe, Aurelien Lecavelier Des Etangs-Levallois, Philip Latzel, Francois Danneville, J.F. Robillard, Daniel Gloria, Emmanuel Dubois

In this work we demonstrate a method to transfer high-performance industrial CMOS circuits thinned down to 5.7 mu m and bond onto a 25-mu m-thick stainless steel foil with a 800-nm-thick indium layer. The bonding is performed at the temperature of 100 degrees C with an applied pressure of 1.2 bar.…

Plasmonic mode interferences and Fano resonances in Metal-Insulator-Metal nanostructured interface OPEN

Rana Nicolas, Gaëtan Lévêque, Joseph Marae Djouda, Guillaume Montay, Yazid Madi, Jérôme Plain, Ziad Herro, Michel Kazan, Pierre-Michel Adam, Thomas Maurer

Metal-insulator-metal systems exhibit a rich underlying physics leading to a high degree of tunability of their spectral properties. We performed a systematic study on a metal-insulator-nanostructured metal system with a thin 6 nm dielectric spacer and showed how the nanoparticle sizes and…

Wafer-scale fabrication of self-actuated piezoelectric nanoelectromechanical resonators based on lead zirconate titanate (PZT)

Denis Dezest, Olivier Thomas, Fabrice Mathieu, Laurent Mazenq, Caroline Soyer, Jean Costecalde, Denis Remiens, Jean-François Deü, Liviu Nicu

In this paper we report an unprecedented level of integration of self-actuated nanoelectromechanical system (NEMS) resonators based on a 150 nm thick lead zirconate titanate (PZT) thin film at the wafer-scale. A top-down approach combining ultraviolet (UV) lithography with other standard planar…

Propagation number in periodic structures considering losses

P. Meresse, Y. Renou, Jerome O. Vasseur, C. Audoly, Anne-Christine Hladky

The development of absorbing or reflecting panels is of interest for underwater acoustic stealth. Most of the time, losses are not considered in the structures studied, specifically in the propagation number determination, despite the fact that most materials used, such as polymer matrices, have…
