History in series: examining the place of history in series
Students in the History master's program invite you to a study day on Friday November 10 from 9:00 am in the Matisse building, Amphi 150
.The Master History team is delighted to invite you to attend the study day devoted to the relationship between History and series on November 10 from 9am to 4pm.
This day will be organized, in the morning, around two student-led workshops. They chose series that interested them for their historical character, and decided to reflect on how these historical and cultural themes are treated within the framework of fiction. In the afternoon, the Master of History students invited a researcher, Ms. Manon Lefebvre, lecturer in American civilization. Her talk, starting at 2pm, is entitled: "Fidelity, Bravery, Integrity: the FBI's attempts at screen redemption after the attacks of <11 September 2001". The aim is to reflect on the uses and representations of history, and on how it can be popularized, oriented and even instrumentalized in audiovisual fictions. Students were also involved in organizing a scientific event: designing a poster, a program, inviting speakers and managing the logistical tasks involved in organizing a scientific event.
We would be delighted to see you on this day (or half-day, as you wish). This day, and beyond, the History master's program, is open to all students curious about history, cultures and civilizations.
