Resources in the strict sense are the material means of existence.
Suggesting the idea of an essential life support, natural resources are necessary. They include plants, animals, minerals, water, air, sunlight and heat, and soil at all stages of transformation. They are vital needs that drive the biological cycle. As such, they cannot but be accessible to any human being who feels the need for them. For humans, this obvious fact goes beyond the question of life and death of living beings: access to resources structures societies.
. The interplay of players and competition comes into play. This raises questions about rights of use and ownership, which introduce a different definition of natural resources. In a predatory logic, they are resources to be exploited, whose access or deprivation enable the establishment of a relationship of domination in the exercise of power.

Natural resources are a source of power, a source of wealth, a source of wealth, a source of power.
