Civil Law in Light of Its Three Characteristics—Private, Common, and Modern

As part of the doctoral seminar “Through and Beyond the Law,” Professor Yamashiro will deliver a lecture titled: “Civil Law in Light of Its Three Characteristics—‘Private,’ ‘Common,’ and ‘Modern’”. Kazuma Yamashiro will share his current thinking on the very definition of civil law, addressing the criteria typically associated with it and highlighting the similarities and differences between the French and Japanese perspectives.
