What do you do when your mother tongue disappears? The ḥaketía, the Judeo-Spanish language of northern Morocco and Oran, "ineffable, as much as misunderstood" according to Tangier writer Ángel Vázquez, is today in great danger of extinction.
Based on her regret at not having filmed her own mother, Line Amselem (academic, translator, writer) interviews friends in Paris who speak the language. In front of Pierre-Emmanuel Dersoir-Vermande's camera, they deliver humorous tales of exile, testifying to a singular worldview that is totally Spanish, totally Jewish and totally Moroccan.
