Presentation of the "Local production and appropriation of globalized urbanism" dossier

Ppresentation of the dossier "Productions et appropriations locales de l'urbanisme globalisé" published in the latest issue of the journal Espaces et sociétés.

The presentation will take place in the presence of some author.ice.s and with Clément Barbier (Université polytechnique des Hauts de France) and Denis Bocquet (ENSA Strasbourg) as discussants.

It will take place on November 30 from 4pm to 6pm at Campus Condorcet in Salle 0.016 (located on the ground floor of the south research building).

" Smart city ", " green city ", " productive city ", " feminist urbanism ", " crisis urbanism ", so many referentials of contemporary urbanism studied in this dossier that testify to the influence of territorial marketing, but also to a deterritorialization of the urban factory. In the context of widespread inter-urban and inter-state competition, not only major international metropolises (Toronto, Paris, Brussels, Singapore or Seoul), but also regional or secondary metropolises (Curitiba, Lagos, Bogota or Phnom Penh), and even national metropolises or medium-sized towns, are taking part in this "globalized urbanism". The production of models is also evolving towards an increasingly institutionalized and professionalized process, with international consultations and networks, and private and public players in expertise and consultancy asserting themselves as promoters or prescribers of the " good city " of tomorrow.
