Session 4 - Doctoral Seminar: "Hospitals and Healthcare Settings"

This session will offer a political analysis of hospital institutions across several regions—in the Soviet Union, Scotland, and France. The institution, which aims to achieve social stability by establishing its own norms (in a manner that is more or less disciplinary or even pathogenic), undergoes continuous transformation and is subject to a variety of economic, political, and social crises that, among other things, give rise to glaring health inequalities. During this session, we will therefore examine the crucial role that hospitals play at the heart of socio-political debates and issues.
