Technology in philosophical anthropology

Revue Germanique internationale
The articles gathered in this issue originate (in part) in a study day entitled "La technique dans l'anthropologie philosophique", held on September 19, 2024 at the Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France (Valenciennes). The volume focuses primarily on the contribution of philosophical anthropology (Scheler, Plessner, Gehlen, Blumenberg) to reflection on technology. However, the perspective is extended to German authors belonging to other currents of thought (critical theory, phenomenology, philosophy of existence) for whom philosophical anthropology constitutes an implicit or explicit interlocutor: representatives of "critical theory" in the broadest sense (such as Adorno or Ernst Bloch), but also Martin Heidegger or Günther Anders. Moreover, even if philosophical anthropology is in some respects a German current, this volume shows how its thinking on technique can be related to French authors (such as Bergson or Leroi-Gourhan).
