Topic: “Harassment and Violence: From Reporting to Justice”
The goal of this first breakfast meeting is to create a space for concrete dialogue between local attorneys and CRISS researchers, based on real challenges encountered in professional practice. The goal is not merely to compare perspectives, but to identify—based on actual cases—recurring situations, gray areas, or tensions that cannot always be fully understood through a case-by-case approach alone. The goal is to transform legal practice into a subject of scientific inquiry by identifying what, behind an individual situation, may reveal a broader phenomenon of research interest. Finally, this meeting should have a practical purpose. The goal is for it to help identify one or two common issues, to pinpoint researchers and practitioners interested in continuing the dialogue, and to define an initial joint project or action that could extend the partnership.
To achieve this, the meeting should prioritize an exchange of problems rather than an exchange of solutions. Lawyers contribute real-world situations, recurring issues, and challenges. Researchers contribute analytical frameworks, comparisons, and methods for conducting scientific inquiry.
