The extraordinary adventures of this knight of the Round Table had been forgotten for centuries. They were rediscovered by a young medievalist, Emanuele Arioli, who scoured libraries all over Europe in search of the manuscripts of this Arthurian novel. At the end of more than ten years' research, Emanuele Arioli here gives the text of this lost novel, illustrated with illuminations from the original manuscripts, so that everyone can, for the first time, read it.
Adaptation of the novel
ZED is adapting "Ségurant, le Chevalier au Dragon" for the ARTE TV channel, a medieval novel that forms part of the King Arthur legend and has just been reconstructed by medieval historian Emanuele Arioli after a ten-year quest.
Zed's adaptation will take the form of a documentary mixing contemporary filming and animated sequences in collaboration with cartoonist Antoine Carrion. In a double narrative arc, it will recount Emanuele Arioli's incredible quest, while revealing the adventures of the Chevalier Ségurant.
