LAMIH researchers at Eurosatory

Eurosatory, the benchmark exhibition for defense and security, took place from June 17 to 21, 2024 in Paris.

Remi Delille and Franck Lauro, researchers in the mechanics department of LAMIH UMR CNRS 8201, were present at Eurosatory (World Defense and Security Exhibition).

SurHUByx is the name of a mannequin like no other. Packed with sensors, SurHUByx is made of materials that resemble the human thorax as closely as possible. Its aim: to transmit information on the dangerousness of a ballistic shock or the severity of an explosion - displacements, deformations, pressures, accelerations - and thus validate the performance of protective systems for the benefit of soldiers or police officers.

.

Presented at Eurosatory, SurHUByx is the fruit of cooperation between the Defense Innovation Agency, the CREL (Center for Logistics Research and Expertise), which reports to the Ministry of the Interior and Overseas Territories, and leading academic players combining their skills: the LAMIH UMR CNRS 8201 of the Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France, the ICB laboratory of the Université de Technologie de Belfort-Montbéliard, and the ISL Institut franco-allemand de recherches de Saint-Louis web page.

Developments continue as part of the new BALISTHO project.
