PRIVAC
Operational since 2022, the PRIVAC prototype vehicle is part of the laboratory's Autonomous Mobility platform and is featured in the CPER RITMEA regional AV-Lab platform.
General presentation
The PRIVAC vehicle - Plateforme de Recherche et d'Innovation pour le Véhicule Automatisé Coopérant - is an open-architecture vehicle dedicated to prototyping and testing technological solutions for the automated vehicle.
It is based on a production DS7 vehicle, equipped with a set of sensors dedicated to road perception as well as obstacle detection and fully robotized (on-board ECUs can take control of the vehicle).
PRIVAC is also equipped with sensors for driver "monitoring", including an eye movement recording system.
It enables full prototyping of the driver HMI: dashboard and central touchscreen displays, steering wheel force feedback, accelerator pedal with haptic feedback, etc.
The PRIVAC vehicle is based on a hardware and software architecture similar to that of the driving simulator SHERPA, thus facilitating the transition from the world of simulation to the real world. Tests are carried out on the Gyrovia test track located on the Mont Houy campus and operated by IMTD: Institut des Mobilités et Transports Durables.
