Actions

The Gender Equality Commission implements many actions within LAMIH.

An ambitious action plan

To achieve its goals, the gender equality commission has established an ambitious action plan that consists of:

  • Identify if there are internal issues related to parity. Qualifying the good life together
  • Define how to be vigilant about discrimination issues in all activities
  • Develop charters/recommendations on parity and equality issues including impermissible behavior
  • Propose parity-equality awareness events
  • Propose actions to motivate the increase of women in research.

The LAMIH has female representation at all levels. On the other hand, the numbers could be improved. Specific actions of dissemination, promotion and valorization of women's work at all levels should be carried out for this purpose.

Establish a gateway for students to move into research

With the creation of INSA Hauts-de-France, a direct space has been opened to be able to perform end-of-training internships at LAMIH. A communication action on the internship activities at LAMIH will be carried out continuously, highlighting the presence of women in the research fields of LAMIH in order to encourage new female students.

The LAMIH has a well-established structure to incubate and coordinate the development of innovative projects in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) improving their competitiveness and training in a concrete way creative engineers and entrepreneurs through the voice of learning, called INOPME Research. This innovative structure uses apprenticeship as a transfer and research tool to accompany the region's SMEs in their innovation and research processes. As in the previous action, the objective is to motivate female students to work at LAMIH, but in this case conducting masters through learning through the mechanisms of INOPME.

In order to have female students at the undergraduate and master's level, we need to start spreading the word about women's participation in science since high school. To this end, LAMIH is encouraging its teacher-researchers to take action in this direction. Work is already underway via LAMIH teacher-researchers at INSA Hauts-de-France and IUT.

Actions implemented internally

A first event was organized in October 2021 valuing the involvement of women in research. Video vignettes will be produced and presented to undergraduate students and in various high schools in the region to raise awareness and promote the work of women in research.

After maternity leave, there is always the difficulty of returning to work and especially to research. Thus, LAMIH supports the request for CRCT and CNRS delegation to promote the return of these women to research activity.

A practice already established at LAMIH is that all meetings are held at a time that is compatible with family life, so meetings are held between 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
