Ecologix

EcoLogiX aims to improve the planning and management of logistics flows between Wallonia and Hauts-de-France by leveraging the complementary nature of existing and future infrastructure. The goal is to promote an effective and sustainable modal shift.

The EcoLogiX project addresses the program’s priority of improving multimodal and sustainable cross-border mobility. The cross-border partnership addresses a shared challenge: the predominance of road transport in freight flows, despite the availability of efficient but underutilized river and rail infrastructure.

The project’s overall objective is to promote an effective modal shift toward more sustainable modes of transportation (rail and waterways) by providing public and private stakeholders with concrete decision-making tools.

The expected results are as follows:

  • The creation of a digital tool for predictive visualization of freight flows and logistics infrastructure, incorporating real-time data.
  • The production of a compendium of operational recommendations addressing the technical, legal, and fiscal barriers to modal shift.
  • The establishment of a cross-border consultative committee bringing together businesses, infrastructure managers, and public authorities.
