Solving the maximally diverse grouping problem by skewed general variable neighborhood search

Jack Brimberg, Nenad Mladenovic, Dragan Urošević

The maximally diverse grouping problem requires finding a partition of a given set of elements into a fixed number of mutually disjoint subsets (or groups) in order to maximize the overall diversity between elements of the same group. In this paper we develop a new variant of variable neighborhood...

Decomposition of a tribological system by chaos theory on rough surfaces

Maxence Bigerelle, Jean-Marie Nianga, A. Iost

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the turning machinability of a martensitic steel, according to the cutting speed, and through signal analyses of the morphology of the machined surface. We initially carried out the classification of a large number of parameters of roughness, on the basis of...

Quantitative approach to determine the mechanical properties by nanoindentation test: Application on sandblasted materials

Y. Xia, Maxence Bigerelle, Salima Bouvier, Alain Iost, P.-E. Mazeran

A novel method is developed to improve the accuracy in determining the mechanical properties from nanoindentation curves. The key point of this method is the simultaneous statistical treatment of several loading curves to correct the zero point error and identify the material properties considering...

Variable neighborhood search for the economic lot sizing problem with product returns and recovery

Angelo Sifaleras, Ioannis Konstantaras, Nenad Mladenovic

The economic lot sizing problem with product returns and recovery is an important problem that appears in reverse logistics, and has recently been proved to be NP-hard. In this paper, we suggest a Variable Neighborhood Search (VNS) metaheuristic algorithm for solving this problem. It is the first...

Etude thermomécanique expérimentale et numérique d'un module d'électronique de puissance soumis à des cycles actifs de puissance, Thermo-mechanical study of a power module under active power cycling by means of experiments and simulations

Camille Durand

Ainsi une optimisation des technologies actuellement employées n’est pas suffisante pour satisfaire les..., Today a point has been reached where safe operation areas and lifetimes of power modules are limited by the standard packaging technologies, such as wire bonding and soft soldering. As a result, further optimization of used technologies will no longer be sufficient to meet future reliability...

Endommagement en surface des alliages d'aluminium en mise en forme à froid, Damage at the surface of the aluminium alloys cold-forming

Tat Thang Pham

First, an experimental methodology using the test bench UST is proposed. It enables the simulation in the laboratory of the conditions of contact similar to those encountered in industries. A series...

Caractérisation et modélisation multi-échelle du comportement mécanique à la rupture du membre scapulaire sous sollicitations dynamiques, Multiscale characterization and modeling of the human humerus mechanical behavior under dynamic loading

Florian Vandenbulcke

The relevant of the human numerical models is a major issue in biomechanical researches. The long bones' mechanical properties are often identified from macro-scale characteristics without taking account of bone structure. This lack of consideration explains the limit of the proposed models...

Security issues are today a key-differentiator in the aviation sector. Indeed, it comes to ensure the safety of expensive equipments but above all to save human lives. In this context, it is necessary to offer an important level of autonomy to helicopters.
