A holonic multi-agent methodology to design sustainable intelligent manufacturing control systems

Adriana Giret, Damien Trentesaux, Miguel A. Salido, Emilia Garcia, Emmanuel Adam

The urgent need for sustainable development is imposing radical changes in the way manufacturing systems are designed and implemented. The overall sustainability in industrial activities of manufacturing companies must be achieved at the same time that they face unprecedented levels of global...

From homotopy perturbation technique to reduced order model for multiparametric modal analysis of large finite element models

Franck Massa, Isabelle Massa-Turpin, Thierry Tison

The paper focuses on the definition of a reduced order model for linear modal analysis. The aim is to supply a suitable mathematical alternative tool compatible for multiparametric analysis of large finite element model considering numerous variable parameters, numerous mode shapes and significant...

3D tomographic PIV, POD and vortex identification of turbulent slot jet flow impinging on a flat plate

Mahmoud Charmiyan, Ahmad Reza Azimian, Ebrahim Shirani, Fethi Aloui, Cédric Degouet, Dirk Michaelis

The impinging turbulent slot jet was investigated experimentally using tomographic particle image velocimetry technique. The jet Reynolds number was considered equal to 9000 and the nozzle to plate distance was 10 times the width of the nozzle. The mean flow and turbulent statistics were evaluated...

A quantitative model for the risk evaluation of driver-ADAS systems under uncertainty

Siqi Qiu, Nedjemi Rachedi, Mohamed Sallak, Frédéric Vanderhaegen

In this paper, a quantitative model is proposed to assess the probability of accidents occurring in driver-Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) under uncertainty using Valuation-Based System (VBS). Two kinds of uncertainties are analyzed: data uncertainty related to the states of components,...

Dynamical aspects of a backward-facing step flow at large Reynolds numbers

Camila Chovet, Marc Lippert, Jean-Marc Foucaut, Laurent Keirsbulck

A contribution to the study of separating and reattaching flows over a backward-facing step configuration is reported. Simultaneous unsteady wall-pressure and velocity field measurements are made to investigate the dynamical aspects of the separated flow field at high Reynolds numbers, up to 182,...

RDU Model dedicated to evaluate needed counsels for Serious Game projects, Modèle RDU dédié à l'évaluation des conseils nécessaires aux projets de Serious Game

Julian Alvarez, Jean-Yves Plantec, Mathieu Vermeulen, Christophe Kolski

This paper aims at identifying the counsels that are necessary to achieve the Realization, Dissemination and Use of a Serious Game. In our opinion, these counsels are an additional facet for all Serious Game projects in order to target their ownership adoption and appropriate use (as intended by..., Cet article vise à identifier les accompagnements nécessaires pour parvenir à la réalisation, à la diffusion et à l'utilisation d'un Serious Game. Ces accompagnements constituent selon nous une facette supplémentaire à tout projet de Serious Game afin d’en viser l’appropriation et l’usage...

Hybrid Vehicle Energy Management: Singular Optimal Control

Sebastien Delprat, Theo Hofman, Sebastien Paganelli

Hybrid vehicle energy management is often studied in simulation as an optimal control problem. Under strict convexity assumptions, a solution can be developed using Pontryagin's minimum principle. In practice, however, many engineers do not formally check these assumptions resulting in the...

Effect of natural sagittal trunk lean on standing balance in untreated scoliotic girls

Sebastien Leteneur, Emilie Simoneau-Buessinger, Franck Barbier, Charles-Hilaire Rivard, Paul Allard

Background: Generally, scoliotic girls have a tendency to lean further back than a comparable group of non-scoliotic girls. To date, no study has addressed how standing balance in untreated scoliotic girls is affected by a natural backwardly or forwardly inclined trunk. Methods: 27 able-bodied...
