Personalised lane keeping assist strategy: adaptation to driving style

Jagat Jyoti Rath, Chouki Sentouh, Jean-Christophe Popieul

The research in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) has progressed to design architectures for driver specific performance. Personalised ADASs in this aspect have been developed with adaptation to driver attributes, state, style, behaviour, skill and so on. For the lane keeping task, the...

De l'optimisation des opérations à l’alignement stratégique

Said Hanafi, Michel Labour, Igor Crevits

L’alignement stratégique repose sur les deux phases d’adaptation de la stratégie et d’intégration fonctionnelle au sein de l’organisation qui présentent une dimension décisionnelle importante. Les technologies de l’information offrent un pouvoir structurant à l’organisation mais également de..., Strategic alignment relies on both adaption of strategy and functional integration inside the organisation which refer to decisions. Information technologies allow improving the structure of the organisation and offer new opportunities which can extend to the market outside the organisation....

Défis de l’automatisation des systèmes sociotechniques

Frédéric Vanderhaegen, Choubeila Maaoui, Mohamed Sallak, Denis Berdjag

Les défis de l’automatisation des systèmes sociotechniques sont fortement liés à la prise en compte des atouts et des limites des ressources techniques et humaines, tels que les caractéristiques perceptives, les capacités coopératives, les modalités de partage de tâches, la modélisation de...

Anticipatory postural adjustment during gait initiation in multiple sclerosis patients: A systematic review

Caroline Massot, Emilie Simoneau-Buessinger, Olivier Agnani, Cécile Donzé, Sébastien Leteneur

Background: Multiple sclerosis (MS) causes balance and walking disorders. Gait initiation is the complex transition between standing and walking and is characterized by two distinct phases: the anticipatory postural adjustment (APA) phase followed by the execution of the first step phase. Research...

On the Local Stabilization of Hybrid Limit Cycles in Switched Affine Systems

Mohammed Benmiloud, A. Benalia, Mohamed Djemai, Michael Defoort

Most of the proposed controllers for switched affine systems are able to drive the system trajectory to a sufficiently small neighborhood of a desired state. However, the trajectory behavior in this neighborhood is not generally considered despite the fact that the system performance may be judged...

Metal Forming and Lubrication

André Dubois, Abu N.M. Karim

In metal forming (cold or hot), localized compressive force is applied on the workpiece through a forming tool. This force leads to generate high contact pressures at the workpiece/tool interface and as a result the workpiece is deformed to deliver a desired shape and surface of the product. In...

Joining the blunt and the pointy end of the spear: towards a common framework of joint action, human–machine cooperation, cooperative guidance and control, shared, traded and supervisory control

Frank Flemisch, David Abbink, Makoto Itoh, Marie-Pierre Pacaux-Lemoine, Gina Wessel

To introduce this special issue of shared and cooperative control, we will look into history of tools in cooperation between humans and aim to unify the plethora of related concepts and definitions that have been proposed in recent years, such as shared control, human–machine cooperation and...

Material behaviour at low temperatures for calibrating cryogenic machining numerical simulations

Rachele Bertolini, Stefania Bruschi, Andrea Ghiotti, Grégory Haugou, Hervé Morvan, Laurent Dubar

Recently, cryogenic machining of difficult-to-cut alloys has been adopted to increase tool life and improve the machined components surface integrity. Numerical models of cryogenic machining are being developed to evaluate the influence of the different process parameters. Up to now, their...

Efficient matheuristics for multicommodity capacitated network design

Bernard Gendron, Said Hanafi, Raca Todosijević

We present matheuristics for the multicommodity capacitated fixed-charge network design problem (MCND). The matheuristics are based on combining iterative linear programming (ILP) methods and slope scaling (SS) heuristics. Each iteration alternates between solving a linear program obtained by...
