Reduced model and uncertainty propagation for frictional contact and friction induced vibrations problems, Modèles réduits et propagation d'incertitude pour les problèmes de contact frottant et d'instabilité vibratoire

Hai Quan Do

To improve the quality of products and tend to reliable and robust designs, numerical simulations have nowadays taken a key role in many engineering domains.

Fatima Zohra Taousser

This thesis deals with the stability analysis of switched systems that evolve on non uniform time domain by introducing the time scale theory. We are interested mainly in dynamical linear switched systems defined on particular time scale T = P{tσk ,tk+1} = ∪∞k=0[tσk, tk+1].

Christine Boydev

The use of CBCT imaging for image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), and beyond that, image-guided adaptive radiation therapy (IGART), in the context of prostate cancer is challenging due to the poor contrast and high noise in pelvic CBCT images.

Ahmed Hamieh, Dominique Deneux, Christian Tahon

Yannick Senecaut

Une première approche propose de déterminer une loi de…, In numerical approaches for high speed machining, the rheological behavior of machined materials is generally described by Johnson Cook law and the friction at the interface by a constant coefficient of Coulomb. A first approach proposes to determine a multiparameter friction law for low…

Scalable row-based parallel H.264 decoder on embedded multicore processors

Elias Michel Baaklini, Santhosh Kumar Rethinagiri, Hassan Sbeity, Smail Niar

Multimedia applications are present in most mobile hand-held devices, which are still equipped with limited battery resources. The H.264 standard is currently dominating the video compression world. H.264 has high computational requirements in terms of memory, energy, and time. Many techniques…

Thermocapillary instability in an evaporating two-dimensional thin layer film

Andriy A. Avramenko, Igor V. Shevchuk, Souad Harmand, Andrii I. Tyrinov

A novel two-dimensional model for the thermocapillary instability of a thin liquid film was developed and validated in the paper. The model incorporates a novel solution for the unperturbed velocity components and the thin film thickness (based on the boundary layer approach and balance equation)…

Comparison Based on Exergetic Analyses of Two Hot Air Engines: A Gamma Type Stirling Engine and an Open Joule Cycle Ericsson Engine

Houda Hachem, Marie Creyx, Ramla Gheith, Eric Delacourt, Céline Morin, Fethi Aloui, Sassi Ben Nasrallah

In this paper, a comparison of exergetic models between two hot air engines (a Gamma type Stirling prototype having a maximum output mechanical power of 500 W and an Ericsson hot air engine with a maximum power of 300 W) is made. Referring to previous energetic analyses, exergetic models are set up…
