Layers of Shared and Cooperative Control, assistance and automation

Marie-Pierre Pacaux-Lemoine, Frank Flemisch

Over the last centuries we have experienced scientific, technological and societal progress that enabled the creation of intelligent assisted and automated machines with increasing abilities, and require a conscious distribution of roles and control between humans and machines. Machines can be more…

A thermal study of power cables cooling in tunnels

Fahd Boukrouche, Christophe Moreau, Souad Harmand, François Beaubert, Julien Pellé, Olivier Moreau

Power transmission through power cables installed in ventilated tunnels has been increasingly used worldwide and offers a complex thermal environment. Established correlations currently in use have been deduced from a non-fully developed turbulent flow. This paper details the experimental…

Service Orientation in Holonic and Multi-agent Manufacturing

Theodor Borangiu, Damien Trentesaux, André Thomas, Duncan Mcfarlane

Of interest are recent advances and on-going research in holonic and agent-based systems for manufacturing. Industrials are seeking for models and solutions that are not only able to provide efficient overall production performance, but also to face reactively a growing set of unpredicted events.…

Robust speaker identification system over AWGN channel using improved features extraction and efficient SAD algorithm with prior SNR estimation

Riadh Ajgou, Salim Sbaa, Said Ghendir, Ali Chemsa, Abdelmalik Taleb-Ahmed

This paper motivates the combination of Autoregressive (AR) parameters and Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC) features for remote robust text-independent speaker identification. All speaker identification techniques start by converting the raw speech signal into a sequence of acoustic…

Towards a context based Evaluation Support System for Quality in Use assessment of mobile systems

Emna Ben Ayed, Rim Magdich, Christophe Kolski, Houcine Ezzedine

Mobile applications, which introduce a new style of interaction between the final user and the mobile systems, are used in different contexts of use. So, a context based evaluation of the Quality in Use (QinU) of such systems becomes required. In this work, we present a method towards supporting…
