A Combined DMI–RLS Algorithm in Adaptive Processing Antenna System

Aounallah Naceur, Merahi Bouziani, Abdelmalik Taleb-Ahmed

Smart antenna systems are rapidly emerging as one of the key technologies that can enhance overall wireless communications system performance. The purpose of this paper is to develop a novel adaptive beamforming system from two adaptive algorithms that are known in the literature as spatial filters…

Efficient meshless SPH method for the numerical modeling of thick shell structures undergoing large deformations

Jun Lin, Hakim Naceur, Daniel Coutellier, Abdel Laksimi

The objective of this paper is to present an extension of the Lagrangian Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) method to solve three-dimensional shell-like structures undergoing large deformations. The present method is an enhancement of the classical stabilized SPH commonly used for 3D continua,…

Constitutive description for the design of hot-working operations of a 20MnCr5 steel grade

Eli Saúl Puchi-Cabrera, Jean-Dominique Guerin, Mirentxu Dubar, Mariana H. Staia, Jacky Lesage, Didier Chicot

The development of sound constitutive descriptions able to predict accurately the changes in flow stress during plastic deformation, under changing temperature and strain rate conditions is of utmost importance for the correct prediction of the mechanical response of metals and alloys, which…

Influence of swabbing compounds on loading, heat transfer and release performance in hot glass forming

Philippe Moreau, Dominique Lochegnies, Hugues Vivier

In the glass container manufacturing industry, hot moulds are regularly swabbed with a lubricant during production. The swabbing lubricant facilitates the loading of glass into a mould, reduces heat exchange when the glass comes into contact with the mould and expedites the release of the glass…

Multi-variable distributed backtracking with sessions

René Mandiau, Julien Vion, Sylvain Piechowiak, Pierre Monier

The Constraint Satisfaction Problem (CSP) formalism is used to represent many combinatorial decision problems instances simply and efficiently. However, many such problems cannot be solved on a single, centralized computer for various reasons (e.g., their excessive size or privacy). The Distributed…

Towards a framework for ontology-based information retrieval services

Amir Zidi, Mourad Abed

In this paper, we present a complete ontology-based framework for the extraction and retrieval of semantic information in specific domains. We focus on the recognition of semantic information extracted from data sources and the mapping of this knowledge into ontology. In order to achieve more…

Distributed manufacturing control with extended CNP interaction of intelligent products

Theodor Borangiu, Silviu Răileanu, Damien Trentesaux, Thierry Berger, Iulia Iacob

This paper describes two heterarchical architectures which use distributed intelligence for the control (operation scheduling, resource allocation and product routing) of a manufacturing cell. In these architectures intelligence is put respectively at the product and through the network of…

Analysis from robust control under environment constraint: application for traffic model

Milka Uzunova, Mohamed Djemai

Traffic management solutions are increasingly called for to address problems of transport and mobility and nowadays, even to address the environmental impact. Traffic control uses strategies to reduce bottlenecks, travel time and costs. Although it is usually assumed that an improved traffic flow…

The influence of speaker gaze on listener comprehension: Contrasting visual versus intentional accounts

Maria Staudte, Matthew W. Crocker, Alexis Heloir, Michael Kipp

Previous research has shown that listeners follow speaker gaze to mentioned objects in a shared environment to ground referring expressions, both for human and robot speakers. What is less clear is whether the benefit of speaker gaze is due to the inference of referential intentions (Staudte and…

Nonquadratic Lyapunov function for continuous TS fuzzy models through their discretization

Ameni Ellouze, François Delmotte, Jimmy Lauber, Mohamed Chtourou, Mohamed Ksantini

Since the beginning of the fuzzy control theory, results have been obtained independently for continuous and discrete models. It is still quite difficult to use nonquadratic Lyapunov functions for the continuous case, while this is much easier for the discrete case. This approach tries to put a…
