Top-down Determination of Fluctuations in Topographic Measurements

Julie Lemesle, Clement Moreau, Raphael Deltombe, François Blateyron, Joseph Martin, Maxence Bigerelle, Christopher Brown

A top-down method is presented and studied for quantifying topographic map height (z) fluctuations directly from measurements on surfaces of interest. Contrary to bottom-up methods used in dimensional metrology, this method does not require knowledge of transfer functions and fluctuations of an…

Contributions on event-triggering control for systems on arbitrary time domains, Contribution sur la commande à transmissions événementielles pour les systèmes sur un domaine de temps arbitraire

Subham Dey

This thesis deals with designing control algorthms for systems on any arbitrary time domain using the calculus of measure chain theory thereby keeping in mind the issues related to interruption of cummunications, availability of information energy efficiency and safety-critical operation.

Elvina Derhille, Quentin Gallas, Luc Bordier, Simon Verley, Laurent Keirsbulck

Martens hardness of Constantan thin films on (100) Si wafer: Improvement in contact area function in nanoindentation

Ayyoub Dziri, Alex Montagne, Francine Roudet, Katir Ziouche, Didier Chicot

This work presents a mechanical study by nanoindentation of Constantan thin films deposited by cathodic sputtering technique with an intermediate thin adhesion layer of titanium on a (100) silicon wafer substrate. A methodology based on a modified contact area function is proposed for a suitable…

A multi-agent system simulation based approach for collision avoidance in integrated Job-Shop Scheduling Problem with transportation tasks

Kader Sanogo, Abdelkader Mekhalef Benhafssa, M’hammed Sahnoun, Belgacem Bettayeb, Moussa Abderrahim, Abdelghani Bekrar

At the operational level of Flexible Manufacturing Systems (FMS), several research works have developed solutions not fully realizable considering the operational constraints, which can be difficult to model. One of the well-known problems in FMS is the Job-Shop Scheduling Problem (JSSP) with…

Improved high-order integral fast terminal sliding mode-based disturbance-observer for the tracking problem of PMSG in WECS

Chakib Chatri, Moussa Labbadi, Mohammed Ouassaid

The present paper proposes a high-order sliding mode control approach for wind turbine (WT) with a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) under complex situations. The suggested control approach uses a disturbance observer (DO) with a modified super-twisting integral fast terminal sliding…

Vehicle Actuator Fault Detection With Finite-Frequency Specifications via Takagi-Sugeno Fuzzy Observers: Theory and Experiments

Juntao Pan, Tran Anh-Tu Nguyen, Thierry-Marie Guerra, Chouki Sentouh, Sujun Wang, Jean-Christophe Popieul

Abstract This article investigates the design of Takagi–Sugeno (TS) fuzzy model‐based observers for nonlinear systems with parametric uncertainties and unknown inputs. To address this challenging problem, two observers are constructed in cascade. Based on the sliding mode technique, the first…

Design features of the kinematic chain of the ant exoskeleton

Santiago Arroyave-Tobon, Jordin Drapin, Jean-Marc Linares, Pierre Moretto

New challenges in engineering design are about resilience, frugality and sustainability. Nature offers remarkable examples of successful mechanical designs that respond to those constraints. Therefore, biological systems deserve to be explored from a design perspective. The study of design features…
