Master Audiovisual Image and Sound Systems Engineering course

This master's degree is designed for managers and engineers in the audiovisual, telecommunications and new media sectors. The course integrates teaching on signals and systems, multimedia computing and professional audiovisual, not forgetting management aspects. The Master's program offers a multi-faceted, highly professionalized training program (with professional lecturers and equipment) that combines theoretical and practical teaching (with numerous professional situations involving multicams, live TV broadcasts, technical projects, etc.). It enables students to master the capture, processing, compression, transmission and broadcasting of images and sound.

Admission requirements

In the first year: Hold a bac +3 (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) or have completed 180 credits (LMD system) in the audiovisual (technical), telecommunications, applied physics, multimedia or computer science sectors.

Introductory modules provide a refresher course based on previous curriculum. The Master's degree is only available through apprenticeship.

In the second year: hold a Bac +4 (Maîtrise or equivalent) or have validated 240 ECTS credits that guarantee good knowledge and real skills, of a scientific and technical nature, in the audiovisual (technical), telecommunications, applied physics, multimedia or IT sectors.

The Master's degree is only available through apprenticeship training (FA).

Registration (enrolment: 24 students per year)

In the first year: Application is made on the national Mon-Master platform. A pre-selection based on application files and a motivational interview are organized in May or June.

Objectives

The evolution of television towards all-digital, as well as the emergence of new associated services, is creating new professions at the convergence of audiovisual, telecommunications and IT. The sectors concerned include broadcasters, for example, who need to develop new applications and optimize available bandwidth resources, and the electronics industry, for the production of low-cost broadcast equipment and digital receivers for the general public.
The Image and Sound Systems Engineering pathway, part of the Audiovisual, Digital Interactive Media, Games Master's degree, takes two years to train specialists in the engineering of applications and systems for interactive digital television and other interactive media, and, more generally, any system or application for processing and/or transmitting images and sound.
