Cannes Festival 2023
Friday May 19, at the 76th Cannes Film Festival, Minister of Culture Rima Abdul Malak revealed the names of the 68 winners of the France 2030 "La Grande Fabrique de l'image" call for projects. INSA Hauts-de-France, the engineering institute of the Hauts-de-France Polytechnic University and a member of the INSA Group, has seen its Talented Broadcaster's Academy project selected. It is one of five winning projects in the Hauts-de-France region. Three other public institutions are also on the list: École Louis Lumière, FEMIS and Université Aix-Marseille.
"La Grande Fabrique de l'image" aims to position France as a leading country for film shoots, digital production and training, against the backdrop of a sharp increase in demand for works on the film, audiovisual and video game markets, and the need to strengthen the cultural and industrial independence of the industry.
For François-Xavier Coudoux, Director of the Electronics Department at INSA Hauts-de-France, "this is a tremendous spotlight that offers INSA Hauts-de-France visibility, recognition, nationally and internationally, as a major player in the digital and ecological transition of the cultural and creative industries of the future (ICC 5.0), at the service of students, companies and R&D."
Armel de la BourdonnayeThis funding for our Talented Broadcaster's Academy project will enable INSA Hauts-de-France and UPHF to position themselves at the top end of European broadcast engineering training.
Talented Broadcaster's Academy
For forty-five years, the establishment, which became INSA Hauts-de-France in 2020, has offered several courses of excellence in the audiovisual field on its Mont-Houy campus: a bachelor's degree, three master's courses (Productions, Postproduction, Image and Sound System Engineering) to which has been added since 2022 the INSA Audiovisual and Multimedia Engineer title, unique in France.
.Talented Broadcaster's Academy will enable the continued development of a unique tool, made available not only to the profession but also to the higher education and research community on the historic Mont-Houy campus.
The budget allocated to the project as part of "La Grande Fabrique de l'image" should also enable us to modernize our facilities on the Mont-Houy site and strengthen the training of postproduction and special effects specialists, as well as the production managers of tomorrow. This project is structurally in line with national and European low-carbon strategies, placing the dynamics of eco-design and ecoproduction at the heart of its educational and industrial goals.
.For Armel de la Bourdonnaye, Director of INSA Hauts-de-France: "This funding for our Talented Broadcaster's Academy project will enable INSA Hauts-de-France and UPHF to position themselves at the top European level of training in the field of Broadcast engineering, and the Hainaut region to strengthen its attractiveness in terms of filming and the installation of professionals."
