Presentation
Public training for image, sound and audiovisual engineering professions.
This school is supported by the plan France 2030 - La grande fabrique de l'image and is accompanied by the CNC.
A training program unique in France
Valenciennes' Audiovisual and Multimedia training courses have been around for almost 50 years. They have forged a solid reputation in the professional training of students in the image and sound professions. They offer Bachelor's-Master's-Doctorate and engineering degree programs.
Initially run by the audiovisual department of the University of Valenciennes and Hainaut-Cambrésis (UVHC) - renamed DREAM (Développement Recherche Enseignement en Audiovisuel et Multimédia) in 1999 - the courses have been part of INSA Hauts-de-France (Institut National des Sciences Appliquées) since 2020, when the institute was created.
The cornerstone of DREAM's training courses is the harmonious combination of scientific and technical teaching with the expression of each student's artistic and creative potential. The aim of this pedagogical approach is to prepare future professionals for careers in audiovisual engineering and design, where creative added value is an asset.
DREAM training courses are recognized nationally and internationally for the versatility of their graduates, particularly as a result of the project-based teaching approach. Our alumni, often perceived as "Swiss Army knives", are in great demand by TV channels, production companies, post-production studios and technical service providers, such as TF1 Groupe, France Télévisions, Groupe Canal+, Groupe M6, Wētā Digital, MPC (Moving Picture Company), AMP Visual TV, Morgane Production, Sony, CTM Solutions, etc.
As part of our various curricula, students have the opportunity to complete academic periods in Canada (UQAT) and in Europe with the Erasmus program (Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain). Internships abroad are also possible.
DREAM courses cover levels 6 (Bac+3, Licence), 7 (Bac+5, Master and Ingénieur) and 8 (Bac+8, Doctorat). Each year, they welcome nearly 300 students.
Learning takes place mainly on the Mont-Houy campus in Valenciennes.
