Arenberg creative Mine, an exceptional place

Arenberg Creative Mine brings together several film sets, a video control room, numerous premises and state-of-the-art equipment for the production and post-production of audiovisual content. The site, which hosted the filming of Claude Berri's Germinal in 1993, was inaugurated on September 25, 2015 by director Costa Gavras and his wife, producer Michèle Ray-Gavras. This former mining site has undergone major conversion to become a center of excellence in image and digital media.

.

The site regularly opens up for our students' projects such as short film shoots. It is also home to part of the Larsh research laboratory (ex. DeVisu), which specializes in information and communication sciences, architecture, psychology, sciences and techniques of physical and sports activities, as well as mechanics, computer science and signal processing, and which accompanies the research projects of Master's students.

The Larsh research laboratory is also open to the public.
