Trust View from the Human-Machine Cooperation Framework

Makoto Itoh, Marie-Pierre Pacaux-Lemoine

Better human machine cooperation is based on human trust in the machine. It has not been established, however, the system design which assures the machine is trusted by human operators in an appropriate manner. This is because the notion of trust is still vague since it has several aspects. The…

A Comprehensive Fault Injection Strategy for Embedded Systems Reliability Assessment

Alexandre Chabot, Ihsen Alouani, Reda Nouacer, Smail Niar

The embedded systems industry is moving towards the integration of higher performance, yet less reliable electronic components into new product generations. Technology and voltage scaling increased dramatically the susceptibility of new devices not only to Single Bit Upsets (SBU), but also to…

Vers une possible contribution à la compréhension de "l'effet tunnel" : une étude exploratoire, Towards a contribution to understanding "the tunnel effect": An exploratory study

Marion Wolff, Frédéric Vanderhaegen, Marion Brethault, Helena Brisson, Régis Mollard

Attentional tunneling corresponds to a decrease in attention at a specific moment, implying that the operator fixes an element while forgetting his environment (Dehais et al., 2010). It can thus be a contributing factor to the occurrence of accidents. Salomon et al. (2016) have shown that when an…

This paper discusses on different complementary concepts: the uses, the dissonances, the opportunities and the threats. Dissonances are conflicts between individual, collective or organizational knowledge. Such conflicts exist on system uses: they are called dissonances of uses that can produce…

Jeu sérieux pour le tri des déchets sur table interactive avec objets tangibles, Serious game for waste sorting on interactive tabletop with tangible objects: exploratory study

Sophie Lepreux, Julian Alvarez, Clémentine Havrez, Yoann Lebrun, Pierrette Ethuin, Christophe Kolski

In the field of microbiology training, in which contaminated products must be handled and recycled, there are new needs in order to reduce risks and costs. New advances in Tangible interaction and serious game domains can provide solutions to answer these needs. We propose a serious game relating…

Nonlinear controller design for robotic assistive therapy. International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems

Juan Carlos Arceo Luzanilla, Jimmy Lauber, Emilie Simoneau-Buessinger, Sylvain Cremoux

A device for personalized robotic assisted therapy is introduced, the process for system identification and control design with output disturbance attenuation is presented. The results are obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Simulations and real-time results are shown as well.

From MDD to BDD and Arc consistency

Julien Vion, Sylvain Piechowiak

In this paper, we present a new conversion of multivalued decision diagrams (MDD) to binary decision diagrams (BDD) which can be used to improve MDD-based fil- tering algorithms such as MDDC or MDD-4R. We also propose BDDF, an algorithm that copies modified parts of the BDD “on the fly” during the…

Experimental Study of the Liquid/Vapor Phase Change in a Porous Media of Two-Phase Heat Transfer Devices

Riadh Boubaker, Souad Harmand, Vincent Platel

The study presents an experimental examination of heat and mass transfer with phase change in a porous media composed of copper foam. The aim of the study involves separately examining the effect of the adverse hydrostatic head, subcooling at the wick inlet and wick properties (porosity and average…
