Investigating agreement among HCI researchers about Human-Computer Interaction in CMMI-DEV model

Taisa Guidini Gonçalves, Christophe Kolski, Pierre Loslever, Káthia Marçal de Oliveira

Do human–computer interaction (HCI) researchers agree about which HCI approaches should be used in the development of an interactive system? To address this question, we performed a study based on the engineering process areas (requirements development, technical solution, product integration,…

Life cycle assessment, technical and economical analyses of jatropha biodiesel for electricity generation in remote areas of côte d’Ivoire

Atta Pascal Atta, Alphonse Diango, Yao N'Guessan, Georges Descombes, Céline Morin, Anne Jaecker-Voirol

This chapter assesses the environmental and economical performances of Jatropha biodiesel used as fuel by a diesel generator supplying electricity to the Ivorian remote locality of 500 inhabitants. It begins with a presentation of the Ivorian electric context and the Jatropha plant from which…

Concepts and models about smart urban transport control systems for city resilience

Simon Enjalbert, Suzana Kahn Ribeiro, Frédéric Vanderhaegen

The work presented in this paper concerns the control and the efficient assessment of transport systems of a city by studying the impact of climate change, energy supply or human behaviour on different modalities of mobility. Concepts from Human Machine Systems and from green, eco, sustainable, and…

Il se présente de…, Smart City was initially based on the idea of using technology in the urban field. It then evolved towards the development of the vivacity of human capital, communicating vessels being created by stimulating the development of one by the other. There are more and more opportunities for joint…

A Multiple-Parameterization Approach for local stabilization of constrained Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy systems with nonlinear consequents

Pedro H.S. Coutinho, Rodrigo Araujo, Tran Anh-Tu Nguyen, Reinaldo Martinez Palhares

This paper addresses the local stabilization of constrained nonlinear systems with input saturation described by Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy models with nonlinear consequents. To reduce the design conservativeness, we propose a new delayed multiple-parameterization control approach based on a nonquadratic…

Mechanical Integrity of 3D Rough Surfaces during Contact

Maxence Bigerelle, Franck Plouraboué, Frédéric Robache, Abdeljalil Jourani, Agnes Fabre

Rough surfaces are in contact locally by the peaks of roughness. At this local scale, the pressure of contact can be sharply superior to the macroscopic pressure. If the roughness is assumed to be a random morphology, a well-established observation in many practical cases, mechanical indicators…

In order to improve services, maximum deadlines have been set for certain types of surgery, but this adds a constraint to the already overloaded system. Finally, the cancellation of surgeries…

Specifying a Condition-Based Maintenance Decision Support System of a Fleet of Cyber-Physical Systems

John William Mbuli, Damien Trentesaux, Thierry Dailly

To obtain an effective condition-based maintenance (CBM) of a fleet of cyber-physical systems (CPSs), the associated supervision and decision support system (DSS) must be efficient tools as well. Through these tools, the human supervisor must have reliable and up to date information on each entity…
