Efficient Selection of Multipoint Relays in Wireless Ad Hoc Networks with Realistic Physical Layer

Dhavy Gantsou, Patrick Sondi

Much of the schemes for Multipoint Relay (MPR) selection in wireless ad hoc networks have been studied using the unit graph model, under the assumption that packets are always received without any error. As this model does not reflect the real scenario of transmissions, recent studies propose…

The Undirected m -Peripatetic Salesman Problem: Polyhedral Results and New Algorithms

Éric Duchenne, Gilbert Laporte, Frédéric Semet

In the m-peripatetic salesman problem (m-PSP), the aim is to determine m edge disjoint Hamiltonian cycles of minimum total cost on a graph. This article introduces new valid inequalities and polyhedral results for the m-PSP. An improved 2-index branch-and-cut algorithm is developed.

Recent Advances in Solving the Protein Threading Problem

Rumen Andonov, Guillaume Collet, Jean-François Gibrat, Antoine Marin, Vincent Poirriez, Nicola Yanev

The fold recognition methods are promissing tools for capturing the structure of a protein by its amino acid residues sequence but their use is still restricted by the needs of huge computational resources and suitable efficient algorithms as well. In the recent version of FROST (Fold Recognition…

MEGEVH project: graphical modeling for energy management of hybrid electric vehicles

Alain Bouscayrol, Sebastien Delprat, Daniel Hissel, Rochdi Trigui

The French national MEGEVH project deals with energy management of hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). The objective is to provide general methodologies to model HEV and optimize their energy flows. The project is subdivided in modeling and optimization sub-projects. Graphical modeling has been chosen…

Needs for methods and models rationalizing work of the actors of an organization implied in an innovation process: basic principles and examples

Christophe Kolski, Emmanuel Adam, Stéphanie Bernonville, René Mandiau

The processes of innovation can be considered before all as business processes; those generally relate to more or less complex organizations. It is possible to understand and improve these processes by exploiting methods and models coming from various fields. Basic principles and examples are…

Application d'une méthodologie d'aide à la décision multicritère dans le cadre du contrôle du trafic aérien, coopération sur plusieurs secteurs

David Annebicque, Igor Crevits, Serge Debernard, Benoît Guiost, Patrick Millot

A curve-fitting genetic algorithm for styling application

Marc Sevaux, Yves Mineur

The fitting of curves in computer aided geometric design is generally regarded as an optimisation problem. According to the application, conditions to be satisfied can make the problem difficult to solve with classical methods. Stochastic ones, such as genetic algorithms, therefore appear as a…

Simulation of dry and lubricated contacts in multi-body systems

Eric Quetel, Johannes Müllers, Daniel Coutellier, Markus Hinterkausen

The present paper investigates the modeling of counterformal elastohydrodynamic lubricated contacts in multi-body system environments. The aim is to obtain a representation of the dynamic behaviour and characteristic values for lifetime calculations. Two contact models are presented for the study…, L'article suivant concerne la modélisation de contacts élastohydrodynamiques entre semi-espaces dans les environnements de systèmes multi-corps dans le but d'obtenir une représentation du comportement dynamique de mécanismes complexes et d'évaluer les grandeurs caractéristiques…
