Towards A Generic Object Oriented Decision Support System for University Timetabling : An Interactive Approach

Sylvain Piechowiak, Christophe Kolski

Timetable management in universities is a complicated issue which uses up a great deal of human resources and is therefore very costly. This article deals with the analysis and design of an interactive decision support system for timetable management. This tool will be able to take hierarchical…

Design of intelligent distributed control systems: A dependability point of view

Laurent Cauffriez, Joseph Ciccotelli, Blaise Conrard, Mireille Bayart

The use of fieldbuses and the emergence of intelligent sensors and actuators are opening up new possibilities for distributed control systems, but are also introducing additional constraints in terms of achieving dependability objectives. The type of production environment will greatly determine…

Contribution to the definition of a partial overlapping plastic strain rates domain for moderate loadings - application to tensile testing on metallic materials

Grégory Haugou, Eric Markiewicz, Jacky Fabis, Gérard Gary

Generally, tensile testing on Hopkinson bars requires some particular considerations. Most of the specific devices, designed to hold tensile sheet specimens on the bars, involve the degradation of the pulses in particular case of no-direct tensile loadings. A tensile testing configuration for sheet…

A genetic algorithm for robust schedules in a just-in-time environment

Marc Sevaux, Kenneth Sorensen

Computing a schedule for a single machine problem is often difficult for irregular criteria, but when the data are uncertain, the problem is much more complicated. In this paper, we modify a genetic algorithm to compute robust schedules when release dates are subject to small variations. Two types…

Génération automatique de composants logiciels sûrs à partir de spécifications formelles B, Automatic generation of reliable components from B formal specifications

Dorian Petit

These works are related to the study of the code generation from B formal specifications. The main aspect that should be studied in the code generation is the modularity of the B language. We have expressed the B modularity with an Harper-Lillibridge-Leroy module system (an ML-like module system).…

DGPS-INS data fusion for land navigation

Denis Berdjag, Denis Pomorski

The interest for land navigation has increased for the recent years. With the advent of the Global Position System (GPS) we have now the ability to determine the absolute position anywhere on the globe. The problem is that the GPS systems work well only in open environments with no overhead…

Mise en œuvre d'observateurs flous sous forme descripteur, Estimation of human movement characteristics in standing. A fuzzy observer approach in descriptor form.

Kevin Guelton

The human body, which is controlled by the central nervous system, is considered as rigid body segments connected by hinge joints system where inputs are the joint torques and the outputs are the…

Pour établir un croisement des données…, Numerical simulation relative to transportation frameworks crashworthiness requires the knowledge of multiplicative work-hardening models' parameters. There identification is based on reliable experimental data from quasi-static to dynamic loadings. To verify the superposition of the…

Moteur à allumage commandé avec EGR : modélisation et commande non linéaires, Spark ignition engine with EGR : non linear modeling and control

Jimmy Lauber

Le second chapitre s'intéresse à la commande de l'admission d'…, This report deals with modeling and control of a spark ignition engine. The first chapter presents an overview about modeling, estimation and control in IC engine. The second chapter is about inlet air control. Two control laws are developed : one based on a linearising control and another based on…

Christelle Petit-Rozé, Emmanuelle Grislin-Le Strugeon, Guillaume Uster, Christophe Kolski, Mourad Abed

La prise en compte de contraintes…, To help the passengers in the planning of their trip consists in proposing them the information in the shape of one or several chains of means of transport, by taking into account the constraints of places and timetables.
