Godzilla is an American-Japanese science-fiction film directed by Gareth Edwards and released in 2014. It features the character of the same name created by Tomoyuki Tanaka, Ishirō Honda and the Tōhō studio and first appearing in the 1954 Japanese film Godzilla.
Summary: Physicist Joseph Brody lost his wife 15 years ago when a nuclear incident irradiated the Tokyo area. The official theory is an earthquake, but the scientist is skeptical and investigates with his son Ford, a soldier in the Navy. Instead of a natural disaster, it's the damage caused by a gigantic creature created as a result of nuclear testing in the Pacific. Other monsters threaten the Hawaiian archipelago and the West Coast of the United States. The army is mobilized, led by Admiral William Stenz. At the same time, Ford's girlfriend, a nurse and young mother, is managing the wounded in a San Francisco hospital...
This film is presented as part of the ciné-Japon cycle. A classic not to be missed!
