Return on the visit to Polytechnique Montréal of the Pôle de Relations Internationales (PRI) of the UPHF: discussion about the IRP CNRS ROI-TM between the LAMIH and the CIRRELT
On July 25, 2022, on the occasion of its visit to Quebec, the International Relations Cluster was received by Martin Trépanier, Director of the Centre interuniversitaire de Research on Enterprise Networks, Logistics and Transportation (CIRRELT)and Full Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Industrial Engineering at Polytechnique Montreal.
On July 25, 2022, on the occasion of its visit to Quebec, the International Relations Pole was received by Martin Trépanier, Director of the Interuniversity Research Center on Enterprise Networks, Logistics and Transportation (CIRRELT) and Full Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Industrial Engineering at Polytechnique Montreal.
After a brief presentation of our experimental public institution, discussions focused on the activities of the IRP CNRS ROI-TML (Operational and Informatics Research in Transport, Mobility and Logistics)*** between CIRRELT and LAMIH UMR CNRS 8201.
This visit was an opportunity to meet Miratul Khusna Mufida, a PhD student at LAMIH, whose two-month stay at Polytechnique Montreal is funded by the IRP CNRS ROI-TML, and whose thesis in the field of Intelligent Transportation Systems and Data Analysis, co-supervised by Pr. Trépanier, contributes to a research axis common to both institutions.Ms. Mufida's thesis focuses on Big Data and smart cities, more specifically, on the prediction of parking availability in the cities of Lille and Valenciennes, by exploiting historical data and contextual information (weather, traffic, specific events, etc.). These predictions could then be used by users or administrative authorities to make decisions.
With the trend and emergence of artificial intelligence and big data in parking modeling, CIRRELT also shared its research on transportation data valuation. As part of her stay, she wants to test her model using on-street parking data, provided by the Agence de mobilité durable (AMD) in Montreal, which aims to better manage public space, especially parking management, on the metropolis' roads.
The International Relations Pole took advantage of its presence at Polytechnique Montreal to initiate discussions on the various possible collaborations for study or internship mobilities between our institutions.
****International Research Projects (IRP) are collaborative research projects established between one or more CNRS laboratories and laboratories in one or two foreign countries. They allow the consolidation of already established collaborations through short or medium-term scientific exchanges. [https://international.cnrs.fr/]
