Title
Control design for cyber-physical systems in the event of denial-of-service attacks
Summary
With advances in computing and communication systems, designing the control of dynamic systems has become even more challenging. In this context, the class of cyber-physical systems (CPS) has emerged. In a CPS, devices communicate with each other and with the physical world via sensors and actuators, integrating computation with physical processes. The existence of malicious agents intent on degrading system performance through cyberattacks is a reality in this scenario.
In this talk, I will address the problem of control design for public control systems under the threat of denial-of-service (DoS) attacks.
The attacked system is modeled as a switching system built taking into account the malicious agent's limitation to launch continuous DoS attacks. Various actions are proposed to mitigate the effects of the attack on the system. Linear matrix inequalities will be used to present design conditions for switching systems in the presence of cyber-attacks. I will also discuss future research perspectives on this topic.
