CAP QUALITY

Capitalization and traceability of data from experimental tests carried out on LAMIH's mechanical experimental platforms.

The CAP QUALITE project was accepted by the Carnot Arts Institute Steering Committee in November 2015 as part of the Démarche Qualité call for projects. Lasting 2 years, the CAP QUALITE project concerns the improvement of the capitalization and traceability of all data from experimental tests on the various platforms of the Mechanics Department of LAMIH UMR CNRS 8201.

Using the tools of Démarche Qualité en Recherche, 3 areas for improvement were proposed by the working groups : classifying scientific and technical data, creating the data resource, defining storage tools.

2 storage locations were thus defined : 1 active location (for ongoing projects  or actions), 1 passive location (archiving when the project is closed). The active storage area consists of a code cabinet containing over 50 numbered bins, a workstation, a labeller to identify the bin concerned, bags of various sizes available to researchers for storing samples, and finally a machine for partial vacuuming of sensitive samples.

.

A 2x300TB storage machine (a SAN) has been acquired according to the specifications defined by the working groups. This machine is installed on the premises of the IT Department, which is responsible for its management.

In partnership with the ISD, a computer engineer and then a Master II trainee in computer science were recruited to develop a web application called RD Watch (Research Data Watch). The application, accessible via ENT, aims to support users in the research data archiving procedure.
