Forge Adict
Contribution to Improving forgeability predictions of high-performance alloys by characterizing forging machine behavior and material formability
.
The aim of the project is to improve forgeability predictions for high-performance alloys. To achieve this, several actions are to be carried out in parallel.
With regard to forging machine characterization, a method for determining the dynamic behavior of energy-limited forging machines is to be developed. With regard to material characterization, large-scale formability tests are to be developed in order to establish behavior laws for high-performance alloys. These actions will be applied to the LASCO SPR400 screw press on the VULCAIN platform at the ENSAM Metz campus. The dynamic behavior of the screw press and the material behavior laws thus determined can be implemented in numerical finite element simulation models. This will enable better prediction of the forgeability of complex materials such as superalloys.
