The IUT had the opportunity to visit the facilities of Pandrol, a major player in the field of rail infrastructure and recognized worldwide for its innovative solutions.
This visit, organized by Odile Riff, Pandrol's communications manager and a member of the IUT board, gave the IUT delegation an insight into the company's cutting-edge work, including a rail welding demonstration and a presentation of the i+weld product range. A world innovation in rail welding, this product range is designed to reduce the drudgery of welding tasks while optimizing productivity.
Guided by Lionel Winiar PhD from Lamih and R&D manager at Pandrol, the delegation was able to follow the mold production chain (Pandrol produces over 200 mold models), from computer-aided design to manufacturing and packaging for international shipment.
This collaboration with a world leader gives our future graduates a concrete, up-to-date view of the industrial sector.
