IUT Council
The IUT is administered by a board headed by a President, in accordance with Article L. 713-9 of the Education Code.
This council determines the Institute's policy, votes the IUT's budget and approves its accounts.
recalls the prerogatives of the council, its composition, and the manner in which its various members are elected or appointed.
Composition of the Board
The IUT of Valenciennes - Cambrai - Maubeuge is administered by a Council composed of 40 members with a deliberative vote and distributed as follows:
- 16 external personalities within the meaning of Article L 719- 3 of the Education Code
- 13 members of the institute's teaching staff
- 3 members of the institute's non-teaching staff
- 8 user representatives from the institute.
The members of the board are elected or appointed for four years except for the special case of the users' college, which is elected for two years.
The Chairman of the Board
Among the external personalities, the IUT Council elects for a three-year term, the one of its members who is called to chair it. The president's term is renewable.
Christian Vins has chaired the IUT Council since October 2019.
A Vice President, called to replace the President, is elected for a three-year term by the Cconseil from among the outside personalities. His term is renewable.
Our IUT contributes to the activity of the IUT network, at the national level through the Union of IUT Presidents (UNPIUT) and the Assembly of IUT Directors (ADIUT) and at the regional level through the Regional Association of IUT (ARIUT).
External personalities
The sixteen external personalities who sit on the Valenciennes IUT board are chosen for their quality, competence and in particular for their role in activities corresponding to the Institute's specialties.
.The distribution is made as follows:
- 4 seats for external personalities representative of the communities.
- 1 seat for the representative of the Grand Hainaut Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
- 6 seats for external personalities representing trade union organizations.
- 5 personalities appointed in a personal capacity by an absolute majority of the council's current, elected and appointed members, proposed jointly by the director of the IUT and the president of the council after consultation with and advice from the UPHF strategic orientation committee.
Teaching staff
The distribution of the thirteen seats reserved for members of the teaching staff practicing at the Valenciennes IUT is set as follows:
- 6 seats for teacher-researchers, three of which are reserved for university professors and three for other categories of teacher-researchers
- 5 seats for other teachers
- 2 seats for lecturers
Administrative and technical staff
In accordance with Article D. 719-4 III of the Education Code, the administrative, technical, labor and service personnel includes library personnel other than scientific library personnel and social and health services personnel exercising their activity at IUT constitute the college of non-teaching personnel of IUT.
The users
In order to ensure equitable representation of the different campuses on which the IUT is deployed, three user electoral sub-colleges are constituted according to the sites of Mont-Houy, Les Tertiales, Cambrai & Maubeuge.
The user representatives are elected for two years.
