Book on the design and evaluation of intelligent interactive systems
A book on intelligent interactive systems, published by Editions Springer by a LAMIH teacher-researcher.
This book presents in a structured way several practical cases of interaction with intelligent interactive systems.
The design and evaluation of intelligent interactive systems has evolved mainly thanks to advances in artificial intelligence techniques, particularly in the fields of deep learning and natural language processing.
This book presents in a structured way several practical use cases of the interaction between intelligent interactive systems and artificial intelligence in a variety of highly topical fields, such as cognitive assistants, navigational aid systems, virtual reality, detection of offensive comments and cyberbullying, 3D modeling and detection of driving behavior.
The main objective of this book is to provide a handy reference with a rich set of approaches and applications consisting of selected and revised papers from the International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction held on October 6-7, 2022 at the University of Craiova, Romania.
The scientific committee of this conference had been chaired by Professor Christophe Kolski of the LAMIH, a mixed unit attached to the CNRS, at the Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France (UPHF), teaching at UPHF and INSA Hauts-de-France.
The book was co-edited by Christophe Kolski, in collaboration with professors Mihaescu (University of Craiova) and Rebedea (University of Bucharest).
It is aimed at researchers and practitioners with experience in human-computer interaction and Artificial Intelligence, who wish to study solution types and successfully developed applications that may be useful in their attempts to solve problems in more or less similar contexts.
Although the book integrates concepts from different fields, each chapter can be seen as a self-contained topic with its research question, proposed approach, experimental results and discussions.
The chapters have been written by researchers from different countries: Brazil, Spain, France, Romania and the USA.
Among the chapters, two were co-authored by LAMIH researchers:
- one in collaboration with researchers from three universities in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Parana),
- the second as part of the project SAMDI (Système d'Aide à la Mobilité pour les personnes présentant une Déficience Intellectuelle), supported by the Hauts-de-France region, this project being piloted by Sophie Lepreux, Maître de Conférences en Informatique au LAMIH, enseignant en BUT Informatique à Maubeuge.
