IFAC CEP special issue on "Human-centered approaches to safe navigation of intelligent ground vehicles"
This issue is dedicated to innovative planning and control methodologies that integrate human-centered perspectives to improve safety, comfort and trust in intelligent vehicles.
Submission deadline: June 30, 2025

Topics include (but are not limited to):
- Real-time decision making for shared driving between humans and automation in complex traffic scenarios
- Learning-based obstacle detection and avoidance taking into account human safety
- Coordinated planning and control for adaptive vehicle dynamics in uncertain environments with human passengers
- Advanced techniques for estimating vehicle and human driver states in VGI
- Integrated planning and control for VGI, with emphasis on human-centered safety and comfort
- Fault-tolerant, fail-safe navigation systems for intelligent vehicles, taking human factors into account
- Intelligent fault detection and fault-tolerant control for IGVs in human-centered contexts
- Shared human-machine planning and control for IGVs in mixed traffic scenarios
- Interfaces for seamless, intuitive interaction between man and IGV
- Trust and acceptance of autonomous systems from the human perspective
- Validation and verification techniques for safety-critical, human-centered driving automation systems .
